What is a Cross Site Scripting Exploit?

A Cross Site Scripting (XSS) exploit is when malicious code is injected into a trusted website. A computer is compromised when requesting the stored data from the trusted website. The compromised code travels to the server then reflects the attack back to the victim’s browser.  The computer then deems the code is from a “trusted” source.
